To the readers of the Nooksack Valley Nostalgia Blog:
I took a three month leave from the Sumas Library and took a seasonal Job at the Philmont Museum and Seton Memorial Library at the Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico. It was a wonderful opportunity and allowed me to explore the history and culture of an area that is far different then our own Nooksack Valley. I thank my husband for his patience and understanding for my journey.
I am now back home and ready to continue on with the Nooksack Valley Nostalgia Blog.
I found the history of Cimarron, New Mexico very interesting. Their history complete with cowboys, outlaws and the Colfax County War was very fascinating. However, the Nooksack Valley area has an exciting history in its own right. We have the history of a border town complete with outlaws, smugglers and lawmen. It is time to remember and preserve our own history as proudly as other communities around the United States.
Tomorrow I shall resume regular postings of Nooksack Valley Nostalgia. Thank you for your patience, support and feedback!
It is good to be home...
