Playground at Sumas Grade School - 1963

Who remembers playing at the playground at the Sumas Grade School?  Recess was such a special time to enjoy the sunshine and to hang out with our classmates. Of course, I remember enjoying visiting our favorite playground monitor,  Mrs. Straka.

  1. I LOVED mrs. Straka! They replaced the merry-g0-round by the time I went to grade school but I spent hours and hours on those rings behind the Merry-go-round.

  3. Me too! I was shy and Mrs. Straka was a safe refuge from playground politic!

Which girls remembers having to wear summer shorts under the dress to preserve their modesty while playing on the rings.
